Its the video drivers conflicting with the OS. Oh, one issue has been a long time occurence, about once every 30 hours of TF2 (gaming) nvidia video driver would crash and I would have to restart the game. Several functions may not work. Uninstall or disable them. It turned outt he USB controller was not booting properly. I am a computer systems engineer (i hate incompatible drivers). Using trial & error method, you may to disable / enable the extensions to try and identify if any of them are causing a problem. I don't know if this will help anyone else, but I'll give all the steps I was given and what eventually worked. Gateway customer service asked me to do the Vista Windows Update Hangs and "Most recent checks for updates" says "never" ...
